Description

The Bresser HD Moon & Planetary camera is a compact color CMOS camera built around the Sony IMX225 sensor (1.2 MP, 1280×960), designed for high frame-rate planetary and lunar imaging as well as autoguiding. Its small pixel size (3.75 µm) and high frame rate (up to 54.4 fps) make it well suited to “lucky imaging”: recording short videos and stacking the best frames to freeze atmospheric turbulence.

Shipped with an ST4 port, it can serve both as the main camera for the Moon and planets and as a guide camera on a secondary refractor — two complementary uses in an astrophotography setup.

⚙️ HARDWARE Without active cooling, thermal noise stays limited by the very short exposure times typically used in planetary imaging — a much less critical concern than for long-exposure deep-sky work.
