ZWO Seestar S50 Pro Smart Telescope

Technical sheet for the ZWO Seestar S50 Pro smart telescope: description, specifications and strengths for all-in-one astrophotography.

ZWO Seestar S50 Pro smart telescope

Description

The Seestar S50 Pro is the new flagship of ZWO’s “smart” telescope line: optics, camera, motorized mount, battery and image processing are all packed into a single unit, controlled from a smartphone app. It carries two optical paths — a “tele” path (50mm aperture, 260mm focal length) for deep sky, and a wide-field path for framing and night landscapes — along with a motorized goto mount with continuous tracking.

Compared to the S30 Pro, the tele path’s aperture and focal length increase significantly (50mm / 260mm vs. 30mm / 160mm), delivering more resolution and signal on deep-sky targets, at the cost of a heavier, bulkier unit.

⚙️ HARDWARE The built-in filters (OIII/Hα light-pollution filter, UV/IR cut) make it possible to image from a light-polluted city sky without extra accessories.
