Star Rupture drops your colony onto a planet that has literally torn itself in two, leaving a gigantic chasm at the heart of the playing field. The pitch blends classic colony-sim elements — managing colonists, their needs, their morale — with factory-game automation, plus one twist that makes the whole thing interesting: as the surface runs dry, your installation has to sink ever deeper into the planet’s depths.
A factory that descends instead of sprawling
Verticality sits at the core of the level design: every new underground layer brings new resources but also new geological and biological threats, forcing you to regularly rethink your base layout instead of simply expanding it flat. It’s an interesting twist on the usual factory-game formula, where available space is never yours to keep for long.
Still in development, already promising
Still young, the game gains depth with every update, between colonist management, tech research and defending against hostile local wildlife. The premise of a planet slowly closing in around the player gives it a narrative tension rare in the genre, and makes it worth following as it evolves through future updates.
