Chess Ultra leans on presentation rather than innovation: carefully modeled boards and pieces, dynamic lighting, several unlockable settings, and an AI engine (based on Grandmaster) adjustable across a wide skill range so you can improve without being crushed from the start. There was no online mode at Switch launch, which limits its appeal against free competition, but the solo experience remains polished for anyone after a classic, no-frills chess game.
